WebSphere Commerce 6.0.0.4 Fix Pack

IBM released WebSphere Commerce 6.0.0.4 Fix Pack.

On my current project, we are still at 6.0.0.3. We are in no big hurry to install the fix pack in our environment. That is the case with most environments that are in production or in advanced development stage. But if you are just getting started it helps to start the environments at the latest fix pack level. Most people may have already installed fix pack 6.0.0.2 particularly if they are using Feature Pack 2 in their environment.

Here are the details about the fix pack:

1. Download it form here.

2. You will need update installer 6.1.0.5. If you installed fix packs 6.0.0.2, you probably used installer version 6.1.0.4. If you installed fix pack 6.0.0.3 you may already have update installer version 6.1.0.5. But make sure you have the latest version of the update installer indicated on the fix pack download page.  Latest update installer can be downloaded from here.

3. The master technote as well as the updates list may show you some reasons why you will need this fix pack. Between 6.0.0.3 and 6.0.0.4 there are bug fixes in instance creation(using language de_DE), one or more bug fixes in Contracts, Gift Center, Order, Promotions, Payments, Shipping and Store. In addition there are performance improvements in Discounts and Promotions. It is a good idea to take a look at this updates list before you make a decision on how critical this fix pack is for you.

4. If you are curious about the files that may have changed - here is the list. It might be a good idea to go through this list to find out what files changed particularly those under Stores.war. You probably touched these files for your application.

There is an important note on this fix pack page. Do not miss it! There is a "mandatory" interim fix for 6.0.0.4 fix pack.
